GAME 2 | Place Bell | May 5, 2026

Triple OT, travel day and turning the page

Wow. Good morning!

How’s everyone doing after last night?

Coming into game 2, we felt calm, composed and confident. The energy in the room was there from the get-go. We knew we were ready.

Our mindset was simple: trust each other and battle shift after shift.

For 60 minutes, it was back and forth. We kept the pressure on and tried to wear them down every chance we got. Even as the game stretched on, we stayed dialled in and connected.

1 OT.

Then 2 OT.

THEN 3 OT.

Through it all, we stayed patient. We felt the game starting to tilt, but we also knew we couldn’t take our foot off the gas pedal.

In between periods, fuelling was essential (although I never thought I’d be eating orange slices again like it was half-time at my childhood soccer games). Huge shoutout to our staff for keeping us going. Top up and get back out there. Job’s not done.

Honestly, the game was reflective of the work we’ve put in all season. Training day in and day out for moments like these – physically we were ready. As the mental fog slowly started creeping in, we kept pushing each other to make sure we all stayed locked in.

What’s funny is that time actually started going by quickly. I barely looked at the clock. Every time you went out there, it was all about sticking to the game plan, making simple plays and doing whatever we could to keep wearing the other team down. We could feel it. I think the whole building could.

Running fully on adrenaline.

Then nearly two full games later, our captain buries it for us in triple overtime.

No one deserved that moment more.

Series tied. We celebrate. LFG.

The room afterwards was a mix of relief, exhaustion and the realization of how important that was for us, especially after game 1. There was no way we were going to Minnesota down 0-2.

Finally it was time to head home and get as much sleep as possible ahead of the travel day.

On this rainy morning, besides waking up and needing to put my eye patches on, the vibes are high. Next up: packing, breakfast and a vanilla latte…or two!

The key now is to stay poised: don’t get too high, don’t get too low. Recover, rest and refocus. A high-stakes opportunity to close the series with 2 Ws.

All within 48 hours.

Same mentality as always: learn from the last one, make the necessary adjustments and get ready to battle again.

One thing I've learned over time is that mental recovery matters just as much as physical recovery. Reset individually so you can come back stronger collectively.

And as a team, we’re steady and ready for whatever tomorrow brings, whether that’s 60 minutes or 120+.

Time to head to the airport.

Wheels up. See you soon, game 3.
